Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had himself a near-historic day in Detroit's 34-27 overtime win over the New York Giants. Gibbs rushed for 219 yards — third-most in franchise history — and added 45 receiving yards. He scored three touchdowns for good measure, including what became the game-winning 69-yard score in overtime.
For his efforts, Gibbs was named one of the six finalists for the Week 12 FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Week. If Gibbs is one of the two winners this week, he would win the award for the second time this season. Gibbs also took home the award following his Week 7 performance, where he totaled over 200 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 24-9 Monday night win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Gibbs could also mark a third win this season for a Lions player, joining wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown in Week 2.
The other nominees for this week include Giants QB Jameis Winston, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, Rams QB Matthew Stafford, Packers RB Emanuel Wilson and Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
