AT LONG LAST
Way back in 2007, the modern block I-State logo was born to a mostly tepid response among Cyclone fans. Jamie Pollard came to its defense on numerous occasions as its function as a “timeless” logo that the athletic department could embrace for decades, but the best compliment most fans seemed to be able to muster was “it’s fine” (yes, I’m aware some people love it, but this is the internet era and virtually everything has at least one adoring fan).
However, everything must die. And on this day, in one fell swoop, Cyclone football killed the block I-State by going an entire football season without ever sporting the logo on the uniform and debuted a new Cynado helmet, featuring the excellent modern rendition of the Cynado logo (trust me, just watch it, the thumbnail is deceiving).
Here’s a close up look at the new lids:
From the modern Cynado logo to the Trice stripes and the tri-color stripe over the middle, this white helmet is a work of art, and one worthy of taking a spot alongside the script helmets in Iowa State’s repertoire.
