Newcastle: Here’s when Yoane Wissa will make his debut
Good news for Newcastle United fans: Yoane Wissa is finally closing in on his debut in the Magpies shirt.
Signed at the very end of the transfer window for £55 million, the Congolese international has yet to feature in a single match due to a knee injury he picked up while on national duty. Eddie Howe confirmed that the 29-year-old forward has resumed individual training on the pitch—a crucial milestone in his recovery. However, his competitive return is still expected to be a few weeks away.
🤕 Eddie Howe on Yoane Wissa:
“We have seen Yoane on the grass for the first time and his knee has reacted well to that work. We will step him up gradually but as for timelines nothing has changed.”

According to journalist Craig Hope (Daily Mail), the club’s plan is to hand Wissa his debut against Brentford, his former team, on November 9. The fixture against West Ham a week earlier is thought to come too soon for his return.
