Once a Steeler, always a Steeler — as former offensive coordinator Bruce Arians took the side of HC Mike Tomlin while criticizing Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry over the awful decision to trade Joe Flacco to a divisional rival.
On Tuesday, The Pat McAfee Show hosted Arians for a special appearance and asked for his thoughts on the Browns sending Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals — and just like Tomlin, he was less than thrilled.
“It’s total bullsh–,” Arians said about the Browns’ trade. “What are you thinking? First of all, Pittsburgh’s your big rival. Cincinnati is your next biggest rival. Why would you trade him to Cincinnati? If I’m gonna trade him, I may get a sixth-round pick for somewhere else, but I ain’t trading him in the division. All of a sudden, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins have 20 targets. Ja’Marr Chase has 10 receptions, almost 100 yards in one week. They couldn’t get the damn ball to him the other three weeks. Now, Pittsburgh’s gotta play them Thursday night.”

Arians’ analysis, while more colorful and profane than Tomlin’s comments, left many within the AFC North scratching their heads at a move clearly befitting the mockery of an organization famously coined by JuJu Smith-Schuster — “the Browns is the Browns.”
