Some rough news on the Lions injury front ahead of the Week 6 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions downgraded three players from questionable to out for Sunday night’s game, including the team’s top two offensive tackles.
The Lions downgraded starting left tackle Taylor Decker, reserve tackle Giovanni Manu and defensive back Avonte Maddox to out. All three were among the six Lions listed as questionable after Friday’s practice.
Decker will miss his second straight game with a shoulder issue. Manu started in Decker’s place last week, but he will be out for the Kansas City game with a knee injury suffered in practice on Thursday. Maddox also got injured in practice, hurting his hamstring at some point on Thursday. Maddox was in line to play more reps than usual, as both starting safeties, Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph, are also questionable.
Dan Skipper was signed from the practice squad during the week, and he should be expected to start at left tackle.
