Packers unlikely to face Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle) on ‘SNF’ in Week 4

Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers will likely avoid having to face one of the NFL's most productive wide receivers when they travel to Dallas to play the Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 4.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears and is “unlikely” to play on Sunday night against the Packers.

Lamb was injured while being tackled in the first half against the Bears. He attempted to return to the game but took himself out after running just one route, clearly in pain and limited by the injury.

Lamb, a first-round pick of the Cowboys in the 2020 draft, has three straight seasons with over 100 catches and four straight with at least 1,000 receiving yards. He caught 16 passes for 222 yards and had back-to-back 100-yard games during the Cowboys' first two games.

The four-time Pro Bowler is the Cowboys' best weapon on offense and Dak Prescott's favorite target. Without Lamb on Sunday, Dallas scored just 14 points against a struggling Bears defense, but Prescott did complete 13 passes to tight end Jake Ferguson and throw a touchdown pass to receiver George Pickens, an offseason acquisition from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Thanks in large part to adding Parsons, who will make his homecoming this week, the Packers will go into Sunday's showdown with the NFL's No. 1 defense by points allowed and yards per play allowed. And the Cowboys may have to counter without their best weapon.

During their last meeting, a Packers' postseason win in Dallas, Lamb caught nine passes on 17 targets for 110 yards.

The Packers have done a terrific job limiting No. 1 receivers this season. Amon-Ra St. Brown caught four passes for 45 yards in Week 1, Terry McLaurin caught five passes for 48 yards and Jerry Jeudy caught one pass for 17 yards in Week 3.
