Texas Tech senior quarterback Behren Morton has been ruled out for the rest of Saturday's game at Utah, according to Fox Sports' Jenny Taft.
On the tail end of a 10-yard, 2nd-and-28 scramble early in the third quarter, Morton suffered a hefty blow from Utes linebacker Johnathan Hall.

Morton's head appeared to snap back after the tackle, which occurred while Morton was already falling to the ground and was reviewed for targeting but ultimately wasn't called as such.
Red Raiders redshirt freshman Will Hammond, who started in Morton's place during last season's Liberty Bowl loss to Arkansas, is now in at quarterback.
Texas Tech leads 10-3 late in the third quarter. The teams combined for five turnovers in the first half of a defensive-themed Big 12 opener.
