Wisconsin football suffered a tough injury early in the second quarter in its game against Alabama on Sept. 12.
Starting center Jake Renfro left the game with what appears to be a lower leg injury on a play that ended with a sack on quarterback Danny O'Neil.
The graduate student was slow to get up and walked slowly off the field with trainers surrounding him. He was already wearing two knee braces.
Renfro had returned this week after missing the Badgers' Week 2 game with an injury.
And his return was welcomed after Wisconsin struggled throughout the contest against Middle Tennessee with snapping the ball from the center to O'Neil.
His exit was immediately felt. On the first play after Renfro left, Alabama brought the pressure up the middle and sacked O'Neil to force a punt.
Head coach Luke Fickell immediately made another change at center. He swapped in his third string center for the Badgers' next possession.
