British pair Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski continued their pursuit of a first men's doubles Grand Slam crown by beating Michael Venus and Yuki Bhambri to reach the US Open final.

Salisbury and Skupski, who only teamed up at the start of the season, battled back from a set down to win 6-7 (2-7) 7-6 (7-5) 6-4.

It is the second Grand Slam final that the duo have reached after losing at the French Open in June.

American pair Robert Cash and JJ Tracy meet Spain's Marcel Granollers and Argentina's Horacio Zeballos in the other semi-final.

New Zealand's Venus and India's Bhambri won a tight opening set on a tie-break after an exchange of breaks but the roles were reversed in the second.

Salisbury and Skupski carried that momentum into the third and set the tone with a break in the opening game.

They saved two break points at 4-2 to maintain their advantage and Skupski served out for victory on Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Salisbury and Skupski have both featured in the final of the US Open men's doubles before – but not on the same team.

They were on opposite sides of the court in 2022 when Salisbury won alongside Rajeev Ram, the second of three successive US Open wins he shared with the American.
