Michigan State football adding new fun element to gameday experience

Michigan State football has made a lot of updates to the gameday experience this offseason, and on Thursday they announced another fun addition.

The Spartans will be incorporating fireworks — yes, fireworks — into the gameday experience at Spartan Stadium this season, starting with Friday night's opener against Western Michigan. Michigan State Athletics sent out a social media post on Thursday stating “we've been working on improving your gameday experience all summer. And we're not done yet.” Included in that post was a graphic of fireworks.

This is pretty big news, as many fans have been calling for years to add some type of fireworks element to the gameday experience. Whether that's after the team runs out of the tunnel or after touchdowns, fans have been asking for this addition and it sounds like it is finally happening.

We will see on Friday night what exactly this fireworks element will look like, but it's just another fun little twist on the upcoming season — which should hopefully have plenty of excitement all year.

Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Friday. For those not attending the game, you can catch it on FS1.
