Vancouver’s Memorial South Park was designated as a potential FIFA training facility for the Canadian men’s national soccer team, but after months of stiff opposition from residents the city says the team will use a facility at UBC.
Laura Christensen, the chair of the Vancouver’s Park Board, says the change was in response to public feedback and changing needs from FIFA.
