Canada’s wheelchair rugby finished the Canada Cup’s preliminary round on Saturday in Richmond, B.C., with a 1-4 record. The first hard-fought contest saw the sides tied at 20 at halftime. Defending champion Japan had a 31-30 lead after the third quarter.
The reigning Paralympic gold medallists Great Britain match-up was levelled both at the break (25-25) and at the start of the final frame (38-38).
Sunday’s championship games are set for 1 p.m. ET (5th place vs 6th place), 4 p.m. ET (bronze-medal game) and 7 p.m ET (final).
All events will be streamed live on CBCSports.ca, and on the free CBC Sports and CBC Gem apps.
