The 27-year-old Simoneau finished with 246.7950 points at the Pan Am Pool, finishing ahead of China’s Huiyan Xu (244.2050) and Viktoria Reichova (203.2616) of Slovakia.

Canadian athletes secured the second medal of the day with a open team technical silver, finishing with a score of 269.6484 points.
The U.S. took bronze.
The World Cup returns on Saturday with the women duet technical, women solo free, men solo free and open team free events before the final day of competition on Sunday.
All events will be streamed live on CBCSports.ca, and on the free CBC Sports and CBC Gem apps.
