The German Football Federation (DFB) and sports goods manufacturer Adidas unveiled the new Germany national team home jersey on Wednesday.
The jersey pays tribute to one of Germany's most iconic kits – the one used during the winning campaign at the 1990 World Cup.
The mainly white jersey features black, red and gold stripes across the chest. The zigzag design draws inspiration from the 1994 kit, worn when the United States hosted the World Cup for the first time.
The jersey will make its debut when the men's national team face Luxembourg in their upcoming World Cup qualifier on November 14, the DFB said.
Should Julian Nagelsmann's team successfully qualify, they will wear the kit at the 2026 World Cup in the US, Canada and Mexico.
The new design will also be worn by the women's team and all of Germany's youth national teams with immediate effect.
“I can’t remember the last time I thought a shirt looked this cool. I love the design – it’s got a great retro feel. I think it’s world-class and I can’t wait to wear it on the pitch,” Germany forward Nick Woltemade said.
The jersey is likely the last one provided by Adidas. From 2027, Nike will become Germany's official supplier.
According to the Handelsblatt newspaper, Nike is expected to bring in €100 million ($114.8 million) per year, roughly twice as much as the decades-long partnership with Adidas.
