The Chicago Bears are still in the early stages of their season, but the preparation for next season is already underway as scouts are familiarizing themselves with some of college football's top talent.
It isn’t just the big powerhouse schools that need to be scouted regularly. There needs to be eyes on every game going on in the country. You never know where the next star is playing. One game that might not come to mind right away is the upcoming match between No. 21 Arizona State and Utah.
These are the four players that the Bears should be scouting in this late-night match on the West Coast:
Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona State
If the Bears deal DJ Moore at some point, they will be looking for a replacement at receiver. Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson plays the position well and should be a high-end draft pick. There is a chance that this star is a top-10 pick. So far this season, Tyson has 39 receptions for 483 yards and seven touchdowns. For a team like Arizona State, which is still in its competitive window to win, it loves seeing these hometown heroes rise.
Keith Abney II, CB, Arizona State
Cornerback Keith Abney can also be a top-60 player in the 2026 NFL draft. If the Bears believe that the injuries and inconsistencies will hold them back in the secondary going forward, Abney is worth watching and considering. For being a cornerback, Abney is all over the place. He helps with the pass defense in every way, obviously, but he is not too shabby in stopping the run either.
Spencer Fano, OT, Utah
The Bears need help at both tackle positions. Left is more pressing than right, but a decision on right tackle Darnell Wright’s future will be made soon. For now, Spencer Fano of Utah must be on their radar. He's one of two Utah linemen who could be taken in the first round. In Fano’s case, it is likely in the top 10.
Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah
The other Utah offensive tackle worth watching is Caleb Lomu, who's the team's second-best lineman but also still one of the best in the country. If he goes outside of the top-20, it won’t be by much. Seeing how these two play against the Arizona State pass rush will be incredibly revealing.
