The Arizona Cardinals were set to take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 5 at home and snap their two-game losing streak. They released their inactive list for the game 90 minutes before kickoff.
It marked the return of guard Will Hernandez and cornerback Will Johnson, although they would have to play without starting left guard Evan Brown and cornerback Max Melton.
Arizona Cardinals Week 5 inactive list
These players would not dress for the game:
- CB Max Melton
- LB Xavier Thomas
- DL Darius Robinson
- OL Evan Brown
- OL Demontrey Jacobs
- OL Josh Fryar
- WR Xaver Weaver
Melton hurt his hamstring and was a late addition to the injury report on Saturday. Brown was doubtful to play, and Robinson was ruled out.
The rest were healthy. Fryar was inactive for the first time this season.
Nick Leverett was elevated from the practice squad. Henandez was active for the first time this season and is expected to play. The only question is how they would use them.
Would Leverett start at left guard and Hernandez return to the starting lineup at right guard, where Isaiah Adams started the first four games?
Thomas has not been active yet this season, while Weaver has dressed twice and been inactive twice.
After missing two games, Johnson should play. Get more Cardinals and NFL coverage from Cards Wire's Jess Root and others by listening to the latest on the Rise Up, See Red podcast. Subscribe on Spotify, YouTube or Apple podcasts.
