It looks like the Oklahoma City Thunder will be without a key rotation piece to start the 2025-26 regular season. After undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee on Monday, Kenrich Williams will be re-evaluated in 6-to-8 weeks.

That means the earliest he could return is sometime around Nov. 11. The latest of the re-evaluation period is Nov. 25. And remember, a re-evaluation doesn't necessarily mean an immediate return. That puts him in a ballpark of missing around the first 15 games of the regular season.

Just a bad break for Williams. He's dealt with injuries before that have sidelined him for an extensive period of time. The 30-year-old averaged 6.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 69 games this past season. He also helped the Thunder win an NBA championship.

The Thunder should be able to survive his absence, though. They have several frontcourt options that should absorb his minutes. It's a bump on the road as Williams has another surgery ahead of the upcoming season.
