Valders alum Luke Goedeke is sticking around Tampa Bay for at least a few more years.
The Buccaneers right tackle and former second-round draft pick out of Central Michigan, recently agreed to a four-year, $90-million extension per a USA TODAY story.
It continues an unlikely journey for Goedeke, who nearly gave up the sport of football after injuries derailed the end of his high school career before joining the UW-Stevens Point team as a a tight end which was his position at Valders.
Goedeke spent one season at Stevens Point before transferring to Central Michigan, where Goedeke would transform into one of the best offensive lineman prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft.
His new deal, which averages $22.5 million per year and Goedeke also gets $50 million guaranteed on his new deal with Tampa Bay, which puts him in the top five in the NFL among tackles in guaranteed money.
Drafted as a tackle, Goedeke began his NFL career as a guard due to injuries but eventually made the switch to tackle.
