Nick Saban has shared his thoughts on Alabama football’s season opening loss to Florida State.
Alabama football opened its 2025 season with a 31-17 loss to Florida State in Tallahassee for the program’s first season-opening loss since 2001. And on ESPN’s “College Football Countdown” before North Carolina vs. TCU, Saban shared his thoughts on the Crimson Tide’s performance.
“Obviously for me and for a lot of the ‘Bama fans, a disappointment that Florida State dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball,” Saban said. “But the good news is, every team has the best opportunity to improve from Week 1 to Week 2.”
Alabama allowed 382 yards of offense, 230 which came on the ground. Florida State has 22 pressures against the Alabama offensive line and three sacks.
“Really going into the season, you don’t really know what you have for sure as a coach,” Saban continued. “You’re always very anxious about what might happen in the first game. I’m sure they’re all disappointed, players coaches alike. But they do have a great chance to improve from Week 1 to Week 2.”
Alabama continues the 2025 season Saturday, Sept. 6 at home against Louisiana Monroe. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
