Matthew Stafford was scheduled to hold his second on-field workout Saturday, just as he did last week before the Los Angeles Rams’ preseason opener. It’s unclear if that workout actually took place, however.
A team spokesperson declined to say whether Stafford worked out, telling media members that McVay will address the situation on Monday. That’s certainly not the update Rams fans were looking for, raising even more concern about Stafford’s status moving forward.
It’s entirely possible that Stafford did work out and things went fine, but we’ll have to wait and see what McVay has to say. He handed off head coaching duties to Aubrey Pleasant for Saturday’s game against the Chargers so he may not speak to the media until Monday.
Asked to confirm whether QB Matthew Stafford worked out as scheduled, a Rams official declined to comment and said coach Sean McVay would address the situation on Monday.

Stafford has been sidelined since the start of camp due to a back injury, and there’s no set timetable for him to return. The Rams still believe he’ll be ready for the start of the regular season, but that remains to be seen – especially if he wasn’t able to work out on Saturday for some reason.
