FIFA’s recognition of Afghanistan women’s soccer team doesn’t go far enough

FIFA has finally recognized the Afghanistan women’s soccer team, but only as a refugee team. Allowing women to compete in a particular and restricted set of circumstances doesn’t ring of liberation and freedom of play.
