A freezing rain warning is in effect for all of Prince Edward Island on Monday morning, with icy conditions expected for about four hours. A freezing rain warning issued by Environment Canada is in effect for all three counties with icy conditions expected for about four hours. The total amounts of freezing rain could reach up to 5 mm.

The University of Prince Edward Island delayed opening until noon, while all Holland College locations were delayed until 12:30 p.m.

CBC meteorologist Tina Simpkin said snow will change to ice pellets then freezing rain in the morning before transitioning to rain around 11 a.m., with more rain expected later Monday and Tuesday.
